It has been proposed that the Bethany Arms Motel be torn down and replaced by a Marriott. If you are in favor of this change, please send the following letter to the Bethany Beach Town Council. The vote may be as early as April 12th.
To the Town Council of Bethany Beach,
I am writing to express my support for the proposed hotel project in downtown Bethany Beach.
The project presents the opportunity for downtown Bethany to be more of an active off-season destination and increase traffic for our business owners. In addition, the impact of small conferences, weddings and special events paired with the fanfare of a new first class attraction, will provide restaurants and shops much-needed business during times that have been historically slow.
Developer Jack Burbage’s promise to build the project in the style and character of downtown Bethany and his commitment to having local businesses see year-round traffic are reasons for my support.
I would love to see new visitors experience all that is special about Bethany Beach for “off-season” long-weekends and getaways, in addition to the busy summer season. Adding a new and unique place for people to stay, discover and enjoy Bethany Beach and its great shops and restaurants will benefit everyone.
With all of this in mind, I believe the proposed hotel is a needed and welcomed addition to the Town of Bethany Beach.
Sincerely,
If you agree, please send the above to admin@townofbethanybeach.com
